Background (Short form):

Fatima is the daughter of Sultan Rashid of Illyria, a small but wealthy 
Middle Eastern nation with rich mineral resources but little oil; this has 
allowed it to stay relatively uninvolved in terms of politics.

Rashid dotes on his daughter, so she grew up mostly alone, with her only 
friends the many animals of her father's menagerie, a personal zoo that gew 
each year as Fatima begged for more friends. Tutored by the best scholars 
her father's modest wealth could provide, she decided to make a study of 
animal health and well-being. Thanks to her wheedling with her father, a 
number of the world's more deserving wildlife charities have received fair 
sums on her birthday each year.

Fatima is calm and quiet, friendly but reserved as she is unused to dealing 
with people. The only thing that makes her angry is cruelty to animals, 
especially endangered ones, but she is not particularly violent (and is in 
fact a bit of a coward). She has lived a sheltered life and while she loves 
her father, she has a burning desire to see more of the world than just the 
inside of her father's mansions.
