Short-tempered and basically a mass of walking scar tissue, he never liked the agreeable, pretty girl who replaced him. Now he's been moved to one of the Jupiter colony expeditions as well, and seeks to upstage Isis or make her look foolish at any instance. He is strong and has good fighting instincts but is, in all other respects, an idiot. Her family was, back in the day, among the first to emigrate to Mars. Isis' mother Marina was a dreamy, vapid woman who adored her daughter... from a distance. Her father Katsuo is the one who generally raised her, indoctrinating Isis in the Japanese half of her distant past ancestors and instilling in her an early childhood love of the hereditary Tsukitomi-ryuu school of Iaijutsu, the art of the 'drawn sword'. Marina, a selfish and disagreeable woman, did not get along with her more logical, practical daughter. Katsuo was agreeable and friendly and much closer to his daughter, but had a weak will and was often cowed into submission by Marina's tendency to rant or withhold affection/sex. Thus Isis grew up resenting her mother, but adoring her father, hoping to be just like him. When Isis was 9, her sister Karen was born, and as she grew older Karen was, except for her great intelligence, every inch her mother's daughter: vain, selfish, and adoring of creature comforts while decrying the corporations that let her indulge in them. Doting on her, Marina felt it was time to follow the NeoHippies and their self-righteous crusade for a groovier universe. Isis was 16 and Karen only 5, and the elder daughter asked, when her parents suggested a trip into space for fun, that she and her sister be left behind. With Karen too young to be of help and Marina coming to hate her daughter, they reluctantly agreed. Before they left, Katsuo oddly entrusted training books and the title of "assistant master" to the family's dojo to her. Confused but unable to deny his request, Isis accepted and let them go. Once they left neither daughter saw their parents as they knew them again. Marina and a reluctant Katsuo were now NeoHippies of the first order, and it was in a news airing of footage from Hippies taking over the very cruise ship Isis' parents had boarded. Scared for her father and hating her mother, Isis told Karen that their parents had died (less painful than the truth, in her case) and swore to take care of her instead from now on. Using the dojo as a source of money until she was of age and through school, Isis took a job with ACT in Red Atlanta as a combat instructor, eventually moving through the ranks to the head of her department. Friendly and energetic, if a bit cynical and overly critical of pacifists, she is well-liked by many people in ACT, which has actually treated both her and her sister (who is, apparently, a child prodigy in the sciences) very well. Because of her unique skills and her very customized exo suit (dubbed "Shinobi"), she's been chosen to go to Europa as part of a colony expedition.
