I like WD. Don't care for company politics or the image they have of themselves. I like the games they translate and the sense of humor they inject into them. * WorkTodd personally finds WD's sense of humor childish and inane. Actually, the sense of humor annoys me much of the time Their only GOOD feature is that they bring quality RPGs to the US. I guess I'm their target audience. * NovaSeaker shrugs. I just think those RPGs would retain more of their quality if WD left the script the hell alone. * NovaSeaker just disagrees on the whole with Todd concerning WD. I would not have enjoyed FF6 terribly if Saban had made nothing but pro wrestling jokes, Edgar only made tasteless sex humor, and Terra appeared naked 14 times over the course of the game. Naturally, the spell "Fire" would be renamed to "Flamin' Thingy" and Kefka would shout mindless jokes about his sexual orientation whenever a male party member flitted into view. The manual would be hardbound, fit inside your pocket, be 9 billion pages long with interviews of countless people from the design team who have only incomprehensible Engrish to report about the game making process. * NovaSeaker laughs. This entire package will cost $500 ten years after the game's first release, although if you preorder, you'll get a small, easily-breakable toy featuring Mog in some annoyingly cute pose. A soundtrack will be included, but instead of the good remixed music some old MIDIs of pre-production, one-note music that no one really wants will be used. Heh And because their target audience is males, age 14-21, they will include jewlery that is so small you'd need to be 6 to wear it without fear of asphyxiation. As well as little standups of the various characters so you can take them to school, because really, who DOESN'T like getting beat up after lunch? And finally, because a starved market will jump at even the SHELL of a once quality RPG, the company will assume their forumla is successful beyond all compare and continue to do this to every game they buy the rights for. Only NEXT time they add voice acting, being sure to choose the (overall) most unsuitable, unpleasant, nasal, untalented hacks they can drag off the street. Dont hold back Todd! Tell us how you REALLY Feel * NovaSeaker laughs. The voice actors, in true WD style, are encouraged to be as blandly vulgar and tasteless in the inevitable outtakes as their characters have been forced to become by the scipt. And guess what, folks? Unless the entire nation of RPGers in the US learns to speak Japanese, this will continue INTO INFINITY. I'm sorry Todd. But anyone who actually BRINGS those standies to school deserves to get beaten up. I put them ontop of my TV as decoration, infront of my FF8 figures. Because Victor Ireland is an immortal bloodsucking vampire who will never die.
